Planning Your Next Farmhouse Trip: A Year-Round Calendar
· 5 min read· by Farmhouses Hyderabad Team

A month-by-month calendar for farmhouse trips near Hyderabad: what each season is good for, which dates fill early, and when to book.
Every month of the year has a good reason to head to a farmhouse near Hyderabad. The trick is matching the plan to the season and booking at the right time. A pool day in April, a bonfire in December and a rainy-day games marathon in August are all great trips, just not the same trip.
Use this calendar to plan your next farmhouse trip, and the one after that. Festival dates move each year, so check the calendar for exact days.
The year at a glance
| Months | Weather | Best for | Booking tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| January–February | Pleasant, cool mornings | Sankranti gatherings, outdoor games, night stays | Sankranti weekend fills early |
| March–June | Hot | Pool days, summer holidays with kids | Prioritise AC rooms and shade |
| June–September | Monsoon | Green countryside, cosy indoor fun | Ask about covered space and road access |
| October | Post-monsoon, warming then easing | Dussehra holidays, family reunions | Holiday weeks fill fast |
| November–December | Pleasant to cool | Bonfires, Karthika Masam outings, Christmas, New Year | Book New Year's Eve well ahead |
January and February: the sweet spot
Cool mornings, pleasant afternoons and clear evenings make these some of the most comfortable months for any farmhouse plan. Sankranti brings families together, and a farmhouse lawn is a great place for kites and a big lunch; see Sankranti at a farmhouse. February is ideal for outdoor games, cricket and a relaxed night stay with a bonfire.
Plan: book Sankranti dates early. Ordinary February weekends are easier.
March to June: the pool season
Hyderabad gets hot from March, and by April and May the afternoons are fierce. This is when a farmhouse with a private pool earns its keep. School summer holidays, usually from late April, make weekdays an option for families too.
- Start early and spend the hottest hours indoors or in the shade.
- Check how many bedrooms have AC and what the power backup covers.
- Carry plenty of water and ORS for kids and elders.

June to September: monsoon months
The rains turn the countryside green and cool the evenings. A monsoon farmhouse trip is a different kind of fun: chai in the sit-out, carrom and cards, maybe a dip between showers. Independence Day often makes a long weekend, and Raksha Bandhan and Ganesh Chaturthi can fall in this window too.
- Ask about covered seating and indoor games.
- Check how the approach road holds up after heavy rain.
- Stay out of the pool during lightning.
October: festival season begins
Dussehra holidays are a big moment for family get-togethers and relatives visiting from out of town. A farmhouse gives everyone space to gather without one household doing all the hosting. Diwali can fall in late October or November.
Plan: holiday weeks fill fast. Lock dates as soon as the family agrees. See Dussehra holidays at a farmhouse.
November and December: bonfire season
As the weather cools, night stays come into their own. Bonfires, barbecues and stargazing are at their best. Karthika Masam brings the tradition of vana bhojanalu, meals among trees, which a farmhouse lawn suits well. Then come Christmas, and the busiest night of the farmhouse year: New Year's Eve.
- New Year's Eve: book as early as possible; popular farmhouses go first.
- Pack warm layers for the evening, as it can feel cool outside the city.
- Bonfires need the host's permission; ask in advance.
Matching occasions to months
- Kids' birthday: any month, but a pool party is best March–June.
- Office team outing: November–February for outdoor team games; weekday bookings are usually cheaper. See corporate outing farmhouses.
- Friends' night stay: November–February for bonfires; summer for night pool sessions.
- Grandparents' visit: pleasant months, with AC rooms in summer.
Choosing an area by season
The season can also nudge which part of the city's edge you head to.
- Summer day trips: keep the drive short so you're not on the road in peak heat. Areas near the ORR, like Shamshabad or Pedda Amberpet, work well depending on your side of the city.
- Winter night stays: a longer drive pays off when you're staying over. Chevella pairs with a trip towards Vikarabad and the Ananthagiri hills, and Kadthal suits a quiet overnight.
- Monsoon weekends: pick an area you know or one with a straightforward approach, and leave buffer time for slow roads.
Planning around school and office calendars
For families, the school calendar shapes everything. Summer holidays open up weekdays, when farmhouses are usually quieter and often cheaper. Dussehra and Sankranti breaks bring relatives into town, so plan for a bigger headcount. Exam months are usually a no-go for families with older children, which can make those weekends easier to book for friend groups.
For office teams, quarter-ends and appraisal season are busy; the weeks just after are often a better time for an outing. Mark your options early in the shared calendar and count back from the date to set deadlines for headcount and payment.
A simple booking rhythm
- Six to eight weeks ahead: New Year's Eve, Sankranti, Dussehra and Diwali dates, and any large group.
- Three to four weeks ahead: regular weekends in the pleasant months and summer holidays.
- A few days ahead: weekdays and off-peak dates, often with more choice.
These are rules of thumb, not guarantees. Check live availability as soon as your date is roughly fixed.
