What First-Time Guests Ask Most About Hyderabad Farmhouses
· 5 min read· by Farmhouses Hyderabad Team
Never booked a farmhouse before? Straight answers to the questions first-time guests in Hyderabad ask most, from privacy and food to pools and payments.
If you've never booked a farmhouse in Hyderabad before, you probably have a list of questions you feel slightly silly asking. Do other people share the place? Can we bring biryani? What if someone can't swim? You're not alone. These are the questions first-time guests ask us most often, answered plainly.
Policies vary by farmhouse, so treat these as general answers and check the specific farmhouse page or ask on WhatsApp for the details that matter to you.
About the farmhouse itself
Is the whole farmhouse just for us?
Yes. Farmhouses on our site are booked as a whole. The pool, lawns, rooms and kitchen are for your group only during your booking. No strangers will walk in.
What's actually there?
It varies, but many farmhouses have a private pool, a kids' pool, lawns, AC bedrooms, a kitchen, a barbecue area, box cricket, a music system, parking and power backup. Each farmhouse page lists its own features. Don't assume a feature is there unless it's listed or confirmed.
Who looks after the place?
Usually a caretaker who lives on or near the property. They'll show you around, switch on the pool pump and power, and help with small issues. Our guide on what a farmhouse caretaker does explains more.
About booking and paying
How do I book?
Either book online on the farmhouse page, where you'll see live availability and price, or send a free booking request and the team confirms on WhatsApp. A request doesn't reserve the farmhouse until it's confirmed. The step-by-step version is in how to book a farmhouse in Hyderabad.
How much does it cost?
Each farmhouse page shows the live price for your dates. Weekend and festival dates are usually higher than weekdays, and larger or more luxurious properties cost more. Extras such as additional guests or a cook vary by farmhouse.
Is there a deposit?
Some farmhouses ask for a refundable security deposit. Ask how much, and how and when it's returned, before you book.
What if we need to cancel?
Each farmhouse sets its own cancellation policy, shown on its page. Read it before paying. The site's cancellation policy page explains the basics.
About food and drink
Can we bring our own food?
Many farmhouses allow it, and a lot of groups bring biryani, snacks and a cake. Some can arrange a cook. Rules vary, so confirm before you go.
Is there a kitchen we can use?
Many farmhouses have one, but how well equipped it is varies. Ask about gas, utensils and a fridge if you plan to cook.
Is alcohol allowed?
It depends on the farmhouse's rules. Events serving alcohol may need permissions under local rules. If your group drinks, keep it responsible and make sure every car has a sober driver or book cabs.
About safety and comfort
Is the pool safe for children and non-swimmers?
Pools vary in depth. Many farmhouses have a separate kids' pool or shallow end. Ask about depth before booking, and always have an adult watching anyone in the water. Our kids-friendly farmhouses are a good place to start. See our pool safety guide for parents.
Will there be mosquitoes?
It's the countryside, so often yes, especially in the evenings and during the monsoon. Carry repellent and wear light full-sleeve clothes after sunset.
What if the power goes?
Many farmhouses have power backup, but it may not run the AC. Ask what it covers if you're staying overnight in summer.
Is it safe for a women-only group or a family with elders?
Booking a private, gated property is one of the more comfortable options for both. Share your location with someone at home, save the caretaker's number, and arrive before dark if the road is new to you.
About timings and getting there
What are the check-in and check-out times?
They vary by farmhouse and by slot: day use, night stay or a full day. The exact times are on the farmhouse page or in your confirmation. If you want the evening and a slow breakfast too, look at farmhouses for a night stay.
How far are these farmhouses?
Most are roughly 30–60 minutes from the city, depending on area and traffic. Moinabad is about 30–45 minutes from Gachibowli; Ghatkesar is 30–45 minutes from Uppal; Kadthal, at 55–65 km, suits overnight stays. Pick the area closest to your group from the farmhouses page.
Is there parking?
Most farmhouses have parking, but capacity varies. If your group is coming in many cars, ask first.
About house rules
Can we play music?
Usually yes, within the farmhouse's music timings, which vary. Keep the volume considerate for neighbours.
Can we bring our dog?
Some farmhouses are pet-friendly and some aren't. Check before you book.
Can we decorate?
Most allow simple decorations like balloons and banners. Ask about tape on walls, confetti near the pool and anything that needs removing.
Can more people join on the day?
Only within the farmhouse's maximum guest count, and extra guests may be charged. Tell the host in advance.
One last tip for your first time
Arrive a little early, walk around with the caretaker, and take a few photos of the property as you find it. It sets the tone for a relaxed day and makes check-out simple. Pack swimwear, a change of clothes, mosquito repellent, a power bank and any medicines the elders need.

Frequently asked questions
Do we get the whole farmhouse to ourselves?
Yes. Farmhouses on our site are booked as a whole, so your group has the pool, lawns and rooms to itself during the booking.
Can we take food to a farmhouse in Hyderabad?
Many farmhouses allow outside food and some can arrange a cook, but rules vary. Check the farmhouse page or ask on WhatsApp.
Do farmhouses have lifeguards?
Don't assume so. Plan for an adult from your group to supervise the pool at all times, and ask about pool depth before booking.
Is a booking request the same as a confirmed booking?
No. A booking request is free and the team confirms on WhatsApp. The farmhouse is only reserved once it's confirmed.
