Farmhouses Near Hitech City and Madhapur for Team Outings
· 5 min read· by Farmhouses Hyderabad Team

A practical planner for team leads in Hitech City and Madhapur: which farmhouse belts suit an office day out, how to handle transport, and a sample agenda.
For a team based in Hitech City or Madhapur, the best farmhouses for an outing are in Moinabad, Shankarpally and Chevella to the west, or Patancheru to the north-west. All of them can be reached by the ORR without crossing the city. A private farmhouse gives your team a pool, lawns and often a box cricket pitch to yourselves for the day, with no other groups around.
This guide is for the team lead or HR person who has been asked to organise the day out. It covers the decisions you will actually have to make.
Step 1: Find out where people live
Hitech City is where everyone works, but on an outing day people start from home. Before you pick a belt, send a quick poll asking which side of the city people will travel from. The answer changes the plan:
- Mostly the west side (Gachibowli, Kondapur, Manikonda, Kokapet): choose Moinabad or Shankarpally.
- Mostly the north-west (Kukatpally, Miyapur, Chandanagar): Patancheru is closer for most people.
- A real mix: meet at the office and travel together. That makes the belt less important and the transport more important.
Step 2: Choose a weekday or a weekend
For teams, a weekday outing is often the better option. Weekday farmhouse rates are usually lower than weekend rates, more farmhouses are available, and people are more willing to attend a work event during the working week than give up a Saturday. The trade-off is the weekday traffic out of the IT corridor, so plan an early departure.
| Weekday outing | Weekend outing | |
|---|---|---|
| Rates | Usually lower | Usually higher |
| Availability | More choice | Popular places book early |
| Attendance | Generally better, since it counts as a work day | Depends on people's personal plans |
| Traffic | Office-hour traffic near Hitech City | Lighter in the morning |
Step 3: Sort out transport
Transport decides whether the day starts well. For more than about fifteen people, a hired bus or a couple of tempo travellers from the office is usually easier than twenty separate cars. It also:
- Gets everyone there at the same time, so the agenda starts as planned
- Avoids people getting lost on the last stretch of village road
- Means nobody has to drive home tired. If drinks are served, nobody should be driving at all.
Before booking a large vehicle, check that it can reach the farmhouse gate and turn inside the compound. Some approach roads are narrow. The caretaker will know.
Step 4: Plan an agenda that suits everyone
Office groups include swimmers and non-swimmers, very competitive people and quiet ones. A loose agenda with options works better than a packed schedule:
- 9:30 am: Leave the office
- 10:30–11:00 am: Arrive, have tea and snacks, and give a short welcome
- 11:00 am–1:00 pm: A box cricket tournament with mixed teams, while others use the pool
- 1:00–2:30 pm: Lunch, perhaps a biryani order or a caterer
- 2:30–4:00 pm: A few team-building games, or free time
- 4:00–5:00 pm: Recognition or awards, and a group photo before the light fades
- 5:30 pm: Head back
Keep any work content short. One half-hour session goes down well. A full planning workshop moved to a lawn usually doesn't.
Step 5: Confirm the details that catch teams out
- Headcount limits. Each farmhouse has a capacity. Extra guests beyond the booked number may cost more or not be allowed.
- Invoices. If finance needs a proper invoice, ask about it before you pay.
- Music and speakers. Many farmhouses have a music system, but volume limits and cut-off times vary.
- Alcohol. Company policy and the farmhouse's rules both apply. Events serving alcohol may need permissions under local rules.
- Cancellation. Plans change when a release date moves. Each farmhouse sets its own cancellation policy, shown on its page.
The corporate outing farmhouses page lists places that suit work groups, and our corporate outing planner goes into budgets and approvals in more detail.
Budgeting and getting sign-off
Most team leads need approval before they book. A short proposal answers the obvious questions in one go:
- The farmhouse: Name, link to the listing, capacity and the live price for your date.
- Transport: Number of vehicles and the departure point.
- Food: Caterer or ordered meals, and whether there are dietary needs such as vegetarian or Jain options.
- Activities: Anything that costs extra, such as a hired DJ or games equipment.
- Contingency: A small buffer for extra hours or a late addition to the guest list.
Per-head figures help finance compare a farmhouse day with alternatives like a restaurant dinner or a resort. Remember that the farmhouse rent is shared by the whole team, so a larger group generally lowers the cost per person.
Making it inclusive
The best team outings are ones that everyone actually enjoys. Some practical ways to help with that:
- Don't make swimming the only activity. Many people don't swim or don't want to in front of colleagues.
- Offer non-alcoholic drinks that feel just as festive, and never pressure anyone to drink.
- Plan food that covers vegetarian and non-vegetarian preferences clearly, with separate serving areas if needed.
- Leave some unstructured time. Quiet conversations on the lawn are often what people remember most.
- Share the agenda in advance, so people who need to leave early can plan around it.
Book it
Once you know the headcount and your team's preferred side of the city, shortlist two or three farmhouses and check live availability for your dates. Send a booking request with your questions; it's free and the reply comes on WhatsApp. Then share the plan with your team.
